During the 2016 campaign, and continuing on well after the election had been decided, violent groups of left-wing protesters belonging to the group known as “Antifa” attacked Trump supporters at demonstrations and rallies across America.
At one such event in Berkeley, California, Eric Clanton – a college professor who moonlighted as a prominent member of the Antifa protest group – bashed a Trump supporter in the head with a metal bike lock, causing severe injury.

On Wednesday, prosecutors announced that serious charges against Clanton had been dropped, allowing him to accept misdemeanor probation and no jail time or felony conviction.
Prosecutors in Alameda County had Eric Clanton, the bike lock professor, on video trying to kill someone.
He event admitted his crimes to the media.
